Vic Atkinson was born in London, England, in 1930. In 1944, he won a scholarship to study art at the Camberwell School of Fine Art, in London. It was there that Atkinson was introduced to the highly realistic style that has since become his own style. He paints mostly in acrylics, although some of his work is a combination of oil and acrylic.

After graduating from London’s Camberwell School of Fine Arts, Atkinson began a career in the animation and live action film industry, as well as studying stage design. Now retired, Atkinson has time to travel and paint scenes from places such as British Columbia, Newfoundland and the Maritime provinces, as well as Europe.

As a successful artist, Atkinson has been represented by several galleries and his work hangs in many private and corporate collections.

Vic Atkinson lives in a small village south of Ottawa, Canada.
